USS Freedom

The USS Freedom in Duluth, MN in late October. I forget the date exactly, but I do know I fell in love with the ship. When this thing came through the entry, it started playing "Bad to the Bone" over the loudspeakers. The thing was so quiet, all you could hear of its engines was a low hum - they're essentially turbojets adapted for water use. When it got far enough away to speed up, it kicked up at least a twenty-foot wake, and it was doing about fifty knots out to the middle of the lake. That thing goes faster than our speedboat o.o
